Ford's F-150 built its popular brand on durability, and we'd like to detail its toughest features now. When you see the current F-150, you'll recognize its full-size structure, but let's talk about what awaits beneath its paint job.

Ford constructs the model's body from a military-grade aluminum alloy. This heat-treated metal enables Ford to vary the thickness of the body's walls without adding excessive weight. It also lets you drive a full-size pickup with a payload capacity that leads its class.

Driving an F-150 will lead your heart off paved roads. The model comes with an electronic shift-on-the-fly system Ford calls ESOF. You'll enjoy easily changing between its three driving modes, which are Two-Wheel Drive, 4X4 Low and 4X4 High. To max out your F-150's toughness, select the Off-Road Package. In addition to special decals, it adds skid plates, off-road shocks, Ford's Hill Descent Control and an electronic-locking rear differential. Expect it to take you where you want to go.
